Writer: Project Motherland
For more than 20 years, I have written fiction and non-fiction. I have been published in Essence, The Chicago Tribune, Glamour, Wired and more.
In February 2021, I completed my first draft (55,000 words) of a speculative fiction novel, Project Motherland. Here is the premise: When Tech entrepreneur Charlene Williams discovers that a fault in her company’s virtual reality platform creates wormholes through time, she travels back centuries to attempt to stop the transatlantic slave trade. With the help of her sister Debra and Black icons across four centuries, she endeavors to build a world without slavery and to excise its bitter legacy from American life.
